Sustainability

Our Ethos

We believe fashion should not only look good but do good. That’s why we are committed to ethical sourcing and responsible production. Our approach is counter to fast fashion, focussing heavily on quality and craftsmanship - We are committed to reducing textile waste by designing clothing that will last a lifetime and more.

In creating slow fashion, locally crafted both in our Notting Hill Atelier and at Maes in North London, sustainability isn't a marketing point for us, its just inherently a part of our brand.

Join us in redefining fashion—because style should never come at the cost of the planet.

Local, small run production

We create with intention and only produce small runs of our ready to wear collections, ensuring minimal waste. When we don't make in house, we partner with the incredible team at MAES London to craft our pieces. Working with Maes ensures transparency, fair work conditions and wages for staff, sustrainability and the knowledge that all Amanda Thompson garments are born from a place of purpose and kindness.

Another advantage to making both in house and locally in North London, means that our garments aren't accumulating a large carbon footprint before they start their life in your wardrobe.

Minimum wastage

We make sure that any off-cuts, fabric remnants or unused samples never go to waste. We work with local charities and schools to make sure that what can be used again is. Our local refugee community center 'West London Welcome' has a brilliant sewing circle whom we donate our left over fabrics and samples to.

Made for life

We intend for all our pieces to last a lifetime with the proper care. From timeless design, to quality fabrics and craftsmanship, these are all the ingredients for longevity and sustainabiliy. If your Amanda Thompson garment needs mending at any stage, we are always here to help.

Materials Matter

Our collections are made of at least 90% natural fibres, and feature luxury dead-stock fabrics throughout.

All fur and leather used at Amanda Thompson are of the highest quality and come with LWG gold certifications.

When it comes to packaging, we use biodegrable garment bags, with paper bags and re-usable cardboard box bags used for posted garments.
