Commissioning Bridal Couture
process
A bridal journey with Amanda starts with a conversation at our atelier. We use this time to discuss your requirements in detail, your dreams, vision and personality that we will reflect in the design. We'll then create a map outlining the journey of your dress with a sketch and quote.
We start the making process by drafting a calico toile. We use this to fit and confirm the design. The next fitting is where you see the piece really come to life, as will be in its real fabric. We will use this fitting to further perfect the fit and play with design details.
From here you'll either have subsequent fittings based on the complexity of the design or it will be ready for a final fitting and pickup.
timelines
Depending if we get fabric made or from our mills, we usually require 4-8 months to make your bespoke piece.
We generally require 4-6 fittings for couture bridal, however this is dependant on the design.
