My journey into fashion began unexpectedly. Coming from a creative background in dance and acting, the highs, the lows, the many rejections took me to a point where I lost my self esteem. Fashion became a new outlet for me — one that existed away from cameras, auditions, and the pressures of performance, the focus was now on the pieces that came to life. I had found my calling.
Coveting dresses on the red carpet and wanting beautiful pieces in my wardrobe is why I started making clothes. Initially it was only for myself, until friends started asking for pieces. I never imagined that it was about to unlock this incredible journey that is still happening nearly 20 years later.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of learning one-on-one from Dawit Adenager who worked alongside McQueen, Christopher Kane and Bellville Sassoon. My process generally is always fabric first and allowing the material to guide the design, discovering where it wants to lead me. To me, fabric is my paint.
Fourteen years into having my own label, with a small team beside me, I still feel the same obsession and excitement I did when I first started — and I have no intention of stopping anytime soon.
Couture & Ready to Wear
We have been making bespoke couture pieces for fourteen years now and made the leap into creating our ready to wear line named ‘Being Frank’ in late 2024. We create our bespoke pieces in our Notting Hill Atelier and our ready to wear both in house and at the wonderful, women owned factory MAES in North London. Our small team consists of Amanda our designer and Sarah our tailor and pattern cutter alongside a handful of incredible freelancers.
With an authentic mix of elegance and adventure at the heart of our design approach, we encourage our clients to rebel against the ordinary and experiment with patterns and textures that explore the nuances of their individual style.

Fabric first
We believe the craftsmanship and quality of a piece starts with the fabric itself. We source our fabrics from our favourite Italian and French mills, as well as luxury surpluss.

If you wander into our Notting Hill Atelier you’ll find the Being Frank pieces in the front, our couture samples ready to inspire you in the back room along with many fabric books…. and our leopard print workroom downstairs.
Meet Frank
Frank the Dachshund can be found most days pottering around the atelier, keeping a close eye on our work and making sure his namesake ready to wear line is in tip top shape. He loves to greet visitors with an all too loud bark but does get anxious at the door, so when you visit please be mindful as he may be jealous of your height.
