Our atelier’s bridal service is dedicated to creating timeless, classic pieces that offer a unique Amanda Thompson modern couture twist to them. Handmade, bespoke pieces crafted with luxurious fabrics, that are born from a carefully curated collaboration between Amanda and the bride. How it works.

  • Book an appointment

    We always start off a Bridal journey with a sit down consultation here at the atelier. Either visit our atelier or pop your details into our form below, and we’ll find an appointment slot that works around your busy schedule.

  • Consultation

    We’ll use our initial consultation to discuss your requirements in detail, including budget, your ideas and vision. We’ll then explain how the process works, including fittings and timeframes.

  • Collaboration

    We’ll work closely with you during the process, making sure that you’re involved every step of the way. Using fittings to make any adjustments and alterations, culminating in a dress that steals the show on your big day.

  • Final fitting

    This is it, the final fitting. A time to cross all the T’s and dot the I’s, leaving no stone unturned to deliver the final perfect dress of your dreams, ready for the big day.

Bridal experience

  • Initial consultation

    Following on from your enquiry, we'll book you in for an initial consultation which will be for 45 minutes and free of charge. We use this consultation to go through fabric options and to discuss silhouettes, design and any ideas you have.

    Design process

    Bridal design is a natural collaboration between yourself and Amanda. Even though the finished dress will ultimately be Amanda’s design, understanding your personality, expectations and what you will feel the most confident wearing, will play a instrumental role during the design process.

    Fittings

    Three to four fittings are generally required after your initial consultation, depending on the agreed direction and design.

    How long does a dress take to complete?

    From initial consultation to completion, it normally takes between 3-6 months depending on fabrics and design.

  • Time

    We understand that planning a wedding can be a complicated business, and time will be precious to you. Which is why we'll always respect your diary and we'll make sure things run like clockwork from our side. We expect the same in return, so being prompt for fittings and making sure your appointments with us don't run over, will help make the process as smooth as possible.

    Costs

    Commissioning a bespoke couture designer to create the dress of your dreams can be an expensive route, but ultimately we hope it will be a once in a lifetime experience and one that will add to your whole wedding experience.

    We're open and honest about costs because the last thing we want is to waste your time. So giving you a general understanding of how much a bespoke dress will cost ensures we're all on the same page, right from the very beginning.

  • Starting price

    Our couture-made dresses start at £5500.

    Sliding scale

    The final cost of a dress however depends hugely on the final fabric, design and detailing. The simple way to look at is, the more intricate, detailed and decadent the fabric, the more your dress will cost.

    Budgeting

    We will always take your budget into consideration and aim to create the dress of your dreams within that budget. Where necessary, we can keep costs to a minimum by choosing your design and fabrics economically. We will discuss costs and your expectations during your first free 45 minute consultation.
