Stay golden: exclusive accessories by Mimi di N

It’s always a thrill to discover an “unknown” designer. Especially so when it's Mimi di N, whose fabulous costume jewellery comes chauffeured in from the glamour days of Studio 54. Mimi (Maria Valguarnera di Niscemi, daughter of a Sicilian prince, married to Prince Alexander Romanov, yes those old family czars) adds a whole load of gold-tone bullion to a wardrobe.

When Amanda uncovered a cache of Mimi's majestic animal brooches – extra-large buckles of prowling feline growl – she knew she'd found the perfect match for her I Dream of Sacha collection. All dated from the 1970s and signature-stamped by Mimi, they're available for sale separately as the ideal accessory for your evenings at home with the caviar and vodka, darling.

I Dream of Sacha

When everything seemed a dream. Swishy and floaty in a gentle groove of muted multi-colours. Wasn't it 1973 and everyone dwelt in Bohemia? Those cold days and misty windows when Sacha's Afghan hound came bounding home through the snow...

Amanda Thompson's new A/W 20/21 collection I Dream of Sacha translates the hopeful 1970s into a nostalgia of soft greys, poppy jewels and deep maroons. Houndstooth by day, the slinkiest sumptuous lounging silks by the night-time fire. Mongolian lambswool will keep you warm in the morning when it's time to walk that dog again.

Amanda Thompson’s A/W 20/21 collection, I Dream of Sacha, was shot on location in the creative East London borough of Deptford with a talented team.
